Frequently asked questions
What is the NIFTY 50?
The NIFTY 50 is the benchmark index of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). It tracks 50 of the largest, most liquid listed Indian companies across sectors such as banking, IT, energy and consumer goods, weighted by free-float market capitalisation.
What is the SENSEX?
The SENSEX (S&P BSE Sensex) is the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). It tracks 30 large, well-established companies listed on the BSE.
When is the Indian stock market open?
The NSE and BSE cash market trades Monday to Friday from 09:15 to 15:30 Indian Standard Time (IST), except on exchange holidays. This dashboard shows MARKET OPEN during the session and the last session's close otherwise.
Where does the data come from, and is it live?
Prices and candles come from Yahoo Finance and can be delayed. The page refreshes automatically (about every 10 seconds while the market is open), but it is not an exchange-grade real-time feed.
How is the Buy / Sell signal calculated?
The technical score (-100 to +100) is a weighted vote of the EMA 9/21/50 trend, RSI(14), the MACD histogram, recent candlestick patterns and an estimated buy/sell pressure over the last 10 candles. A score of +25 or more reads BUY, -25 or less reads SELL, and anything in between is NEUTRAL.
How is stock performance measured?
Performance is the percentage change of the latest close versus the close 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, at the start of the year (YTD) or 1 year earlier. The comparison chart rebases every line to 0% at the start of the chosen range so stocks and indices can be compared directly.
Is this investment advice?
No. This dashboard is for educational information only. Signals and trade levels are generated by simple rules and are not recommendations to buy or sell any security. Trading carries a risk of loss; consult a SEBI-registered adviser before investing.
